Oh our Allah, provide us with the betterment both in this world and the afterworld and save us from the punishment of the hell. Al-Quran

Education is the harmonious development of body, mind and soul. No nation can prosper without education the age, congenial atmosphere and decent education systems are necessary.

Islamic education is the only way for earthly betterment and exemption in the afterworld as well. Before the arrival of English, education system included science, commence, agriculture, medical science and other different subject along with Islamic education went on both in government and nongovernment in our Pak-India Subcontinent for years after years. After the English’s arrival, the Muslims were turned in to a poor and lowly nation, all government and nongovernment Madrasah began to close on. In 1781, a Madrasah was set in Kolkata considering the demand of the Muslims. After founding Kolkata Madrasah, the education commission of the English Government brought different proposals to reform Madrasah Education. These proposals to reform were devoid of any recommendation to turn Madrasah Education in to Islamic Education. In 1881 the education commission formed under the presidency of William Hunter, presented 17 sections recommendations. These included under as the medium of education and different scholarship on education. In 1915, a new scheme Madrasah Education system emerged from the combination of Islamic and English education. After the dividation on 1947, the first formed government rejected the new scheme Madrasah Education system and continued the old system in the madrasahs. Then, Sharif Commission and Justice Hamudun Rahman Commission formed a few recommendations to reform Madrasah education but most of them remained unimplemented. After the independence of Bangladesh, the kutnat-e-khuda Education Commission and Shamsul Haque Education Commission along with other realistic, commission were formed but no effective and acceptable plan are taken.

At present in Bangladesh there are two streams of education – one is general education and the other is Madrasah education. Endeavors are going on to make the general education system be fitting the spirit of the age, through modern scientific knowledge and technology along with cadet system. But it is a matter sorrow but true that there is rarely any cadet system institution in the present Madrasah education system. On the other hand, people do not want to admit their children in Madrasah for lack of modern scientific and technological knowledge, though it runs with the Quran and surma based curriculum. Yet, Al khawarezmi- the wonder of mathematics, philosopher Imam Gazzali, Lestoniam Ibn-khaldum and medical scientist Ibn-Sina came from the Quran and Surma based Madrasah education system.
